  About Swimming
Swimming offers many unique advantages over other sports making it an ideal choice for young people. Long-time swimmers can attest to the life skills gained by participation, including time management, goal setting, cooperation and independence.

Ever since its inclusion in the Olympic as a sport in 1896, Swimming has undergone tremendous development. As it gained popularity over the years, ancient swimming stroke like freestyle is now joined by other modern strokes namely butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke and individual medley. Today, from the humble beginning of just 4 swimming events, the Olympic now offers up to 32 events ranging various swimming strokes.

Swimming in Singapore experienced a new wave of changes in 2005.  Through strategic improvements and alignments to target, preparatory, developmental and local competitions, Singapore has seen its best performances at the South-East Asian Games and Asian Games in recent years.
