NCAP SWIMMING COACHING - LEVEL 2 TECHNICAL COURSE  
   


This intermediate coaching course aims to teach Coaches train developing athletes in the physical, technical and mental demands of the sport. It adeptly provides Coaches with the essential immediate knowledge of Swimming in particular. Coaches will be better equipped with enhanced training methodologies, seasonal intermediate programme planning, understanding sport psychology, treating swimming injuries, enlightened about the intimate relationship between nutrition and sport performances, enhanced stroke coaching, advanced skills training & analysis of competition strategies, etc.

 
   
 
   

Certification
Upon registration, applicants for this course must produce the NCAP Level 1 Technical Certificate as well as the NCAP Level 2 Theory Cert.

For participants whose Swimming Instructor (SI) Certificates are issued before Year 1999, you are required to attend and complete SSA's Refresher Course before enroling for this NCAP Level 2 Course with us. When registering for the Refresher Course, please produce your ORIGINAL copy of your SI Certificate.

For Swimming Instructors who have lost their original certificates, you are required to make a police report before enrolling for the next available intake of the Refresher Course. Upon registration, the ORIGINAL copy of the police report is to be produced as well.

 
       
    Fees
The course fee set at SGD $400/-, includes all handouts, reading materials as well as the compulsory Theory & Practical Examination Fees at the end of the course.
 
       
   

Date, Time & Venue
This Level 2 Course shall commence on Wednesday, 16th September 2009. Lessons proper will be conducted on a thrice a week basis. Unless stated otherwise on the Programme Schedule, classes are on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a duration of 6 weeks.

All theory lessons will be conducted at SSA Conference Room and all practical lessons at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex (Training Pool) unless otherwise stated in the course schedule. The Theory Examination will be held at the National Stadium Theatrette while the Practical Exam is conducted at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex (Training Pool).

The entire duration of this course spans over a period of 6 weeks, a total of 15 lessons with mandatory Theory & Practical Examinations at the end of the 5th week.

    Course Requirements
All applicants who are admitted into the course proper are strictly required to fulfill a minimum requirement of 80% of the total number of lessons conducted. Failing to do so will constitute an immediate failure and will subsequently be removed from the course proper.
 
       
    Course Attachment
Upon passing both Practical and Theory Exams, you will be required to fulfill a minimum of 48 attachment training sessions (a minimum time frame of 1.5 hours each session) with any MOE registered schools or any of our affiliates which can be found here on our SSA Website.The minimum duration period of such an attachment is 6 months while the max is 1 year.
 
       
    Application
The minimum class size required before this course is allowed to commence is 25 while the maximum number of applicants SSA can accommodate is 40.

Please kindly note that registration is based on a first-come-first-served basis. All registrations must be done in person. No fax or email will be entertained.When registering, you must produce all your ORIGINAL certificates. No scanned or faxed or emailed or photocopied documents will be accepted.

Upon your successful registration, you will be issued an Official Receipt by us. Do keep the receipt and remember to bring it on the very first day of the course for verification purpose.

The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) & Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) reserve the right to cancel , postpone, change the venue(s), dates and time of the course at their discretions. They are also not to be held responsible for any claims arising from injuries, damages or loss of lives sustained and/or incurred while attending the course and this includes all costs incurred as a result of such claims.

Applicants whom SSA eventually removes from its entire course due to repeatedly poor attendance, will not have their reinstate requests entertained unless they are strongly substantiated by genuine reasons which are deemed to be inevitable and due to unforeseen circumstances. Even so, such requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Similarly, applicants who fail the Skills Test or the Practical and/or Theory Exams are not allowed to appeal to have their results reviewed.
