The SSA is looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals to join us in the following positions:

National Diving Development Coach

A.    PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

Report to the Diving Head Coach and Vice President (Diving). To ensure, that within the guidelines and constraints determined by Singapore Swimming Association (SSA), the National Diving Development Coach is responsible for the development and coaching of the athletes in the national development programmes.

B.     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Technical Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Diving Head Coach to identify talent, as well as develop and implement training and competition plans for the national diving development squads.
  • Assist the Diving Head Coach to conduct coaching courses and mentor club coaches at the participation and developmental level.

2.   Reports

  • Provide coach reports for overseas trips.
  • Provide periodic monitoring and assessment updates on individual diver’s performance and training plans.

C.     JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS

Experience

Possess relevant diving coaching certifications. Must be qualified in all aspects of dryland and water overhead spotting harness and hand assisted spotting.  

Experienced in coaching divers successfully at major national meets at the junior and age-group levels of 11-18 years old. Have minimum 5 years of coaching experience.

Personal Attributes

Has the interpersonal and management skills to work closely with team/staff members where relevant.

Works effectively with people and shows respect and sensitivity to their needs.

Demonstrates a logical approach in weighing up issues and coming to a decision.

Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills and able to provide reports when required.

Demonstrates ability to handle crisis situations.

Shows enthusiasm and preparedness to put athlete performance before personal considerations.

Available to attend all pre-competition meetings, training camps and meets if required.

Ability to work on weekends.

Ability to travel overseas.

Ability to speak English is an advantage.
